Sensory Play Sessions & Events for Children
Sensory Explorers is a Dublin-based initiative, founded by Rebecca McDermott, that offers sensory play sessions for children, with a focus on neurodivergent children and their families . The sessions aim to provide a fun, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children to explore different textures, move their bodies, and build skills in a relaxed setting. Activities include themed sensory tuff trays, arts and crafts, building with Magna-tiles and Lego/Duplo, and movement play with equipment like sensory walls, ball pits, and bean bags.

Events & Classes
Sensory Play Classes
1 hour Sensory Explorer play sessions which ignite creativity. Sensory trays are themed differently each week so nobody ever gets bored. We introduce different textures, colours and smells to develop all the senses. The sensory trays are taste safe so children that like to mouth or have any eating difficulties like PICA can still attend. Kids can also chill out in the LEGO room, ball pit, kitchen café play area and dress up as their favourite super hero or princess. Our Sensory Explorers sessions stand out from regular sensory play as we incorporate imaginative open-ended play, fine and gross motor skills into every session.
Active Lego
Active Lego provides all the elements of a traditional Lego class but with a twist as we encourage movement to create. We incorporate equipment such as roller boards, stepping stones, sensory fidgets and equipment to provide supports and an adaptive environment. There are over 50 Lego sets available to build from instructions but there is also much more to choose from, such as - Magna Tiles, Marble Runs, Minecraft blocks, STEM sets, Air Tubz building set, you can even build your own fort in class We also provide lots of themed free play Lego, Lego rugs and cushions so building can be carried out at a table or on the floor to suit children's preferences.
Birthday Parties
We are the perfect location for your upcoming special event. We can tailor the private session to children’s special interests & passions. Choose your theme for your sensory trays and enjoy a sensory space and all its surrounding activities. Community Events & Festivals
We are the go-to business to advise and create an inclusive environment for your next community or festival event. We are part of the neurodivergent community so our expertise not only comes from our past event projects but also from a lived experience perspective. Our passion is to break down barriers that prevents additional needs and neurodivergent people from attending events but welcomes and supports attendance. We provide the environment and supports which takes any stress or guess work out for you when planning your next event. There are so many options that we can provide for you that can be adapted, diversified and customised to suit your theme, vibe and type of event.
Sensory Quiet Space/Room
This provides a breakaway, safe and tranquil space where people can reset and regulate while attending your event. A sensory quiet space consists • memory foam bean bags that mould to the shape of your body for maximum support and regulation - • X-Large Lava Floor Tiles & matted areas • Sensory Lighting & cubes • Fidgets & ear defenders • Spinning Chairs and Rockers • Soft Furnishings and lighting • Optional to include additional sensory lighting and ball pits
Sensory Play Area
This is a must have for family and all children’s events We can create a sensory play session that will captivate children in a calming and adaptive environment. We can make it a large-scale play session or an intimate private session, whatever the need is we can create it. We will tailor all our sensory sessions to suit the vibe, style and size of your event.
