Welcome to Sensory Explorers, a Dublin-based initiative founded by Rebecca McDermott. We are passionate about creating fun, inclusive, and stimulating environments where children—especially neurodivergent children and their families—can play, learn, and thrive.
Our sensory play sessions are designed to spark creativity and curiosity through hands-on experiences. From themed sensory tuff trays and arts & crafts to imaginative play and movement activities, every session encourages children to explore textures, colors, and sounds in a relaxed, supportive setting. All our sensory trays are taste-safe, ensuring that children with eating difficulties or PICA can join in safely.
At Sensory Explorers, play is more than fun—it’s an opportunity to build fine and gross motor skills, develop social connections, and nurture confidence. Children can enjoy a variety of activities, including:
Whether you visit our Sensory Space in The Square Tallaght or invite us to your school, community center, or event, we bring the magic of sensory play to you. Our mission is simple: to break down barriers and create spaces where every child feels welcome, supported, and free to explore.
Join us on this journey of discovery—because every child deserves a world full of sensory wonder.
My son had a great time at the Sensory Explorers summer camps. He often sees his sister go off to her camps and it was lovely for him to have his own camp to go to. Rebecca and her team are wonderful at understanding the children’s needs and recognising when they need a break and I always know he’ll be ok when he goes in the door. I hope she continues to run more camps as they mean so much to us.
I’d highly recommend the Sensory Explorers sessions. Rebecca is so inclusive and knows exactly how to support the kids in the group. The sessions are really engaging, great for building confidence and providing opportunities for social interactions. Most of all the kids just love them and have a ball!
‘Its fantastic seeing so many community events now being inclusive!! We love seeing Sensory Explorers at different events as we know our kids will be catered for and welcomed’
My Child attends the weekly Active Lego class in Tallaght with Rebecca. I am beyond thrilled to see how he has thrived socially in this inclusive environment. He runs through the door each week and has even made a friend!!!
Superb, each class has a different theme so we are always excited before each class. 5 stars!!
